The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Aquaculture Manager to lead aquaculture operations, production optimization, and sustainable farming initiatives. The ideal candidate will oversee farm operations, fish health management, environmental compliance, production planning, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring operational efficiency, animal welfare, and high product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement aquaculture strategies, production plans, and operational frameworks aligned with organizational objectives and sustainability commitments.
- Oversee daily aquaculture operations, including hatchery management, breeding programs, grow-out systems, feeding schedules, harvesting, and stock management.
- Collaborate with Marine Biologists, Veterinarians, Fish Health Specialists, Quality Assurance, Production, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Research & Development, Procurement, and Executive Leadership to achieve production and quality goals.
- Monitor fish and shellfish health, nutrition, water quality, biosecurity, stocking density, growth performance, and environmental conditions to maximize productivity and animal welfare.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for feeding, disease prevention, vaccination, water treatment, harvesting, transportation, and emergency response.
- Manage production schedules, inventory levels, feed procurement, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation to ensure efficient farm operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including survival rates, feed conversion ratio (FCR), growth rates, biomass production, water quality, harvest yields, production costs, animal health, regulatory compliance, and customer quality requirements.
- Conduct operational audits, environmental assessments, disease investigations, risk analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize farm performance.
- Ensure compliance with UAE aquaculture regulations, environmental protection standards, animal welfare requirements, food safety regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Manage operational budgets, supplier relationships, veterinary services, laboratory partners, equipment vendors, and sustainability initiatives.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives through Aquaculture Management Systems (AMS), Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled water quality monitoring, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered production analytics, automated feeding systems, predictive health monitoring, drone inspections, and business intelligence solutions.
- Utilize aquaculture management platforms, SCADA systems, Microsoft 365, Power BI, GIS software, environmental monitoring tools, ERP systems, and project management software to monitor operational performance and generate actionable insights.
- Prepare executive dashboards, production reports, sustainability updates, fish health assessments, budget analyses, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop farm supervisors, hatchery technicians, aquaculture specialists, quality professionals, and cross-functional teams while fostering a culture of sustainability, animal welfare, operational excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Fisheries Science, Animal Science, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- Master's degree or professional certifications in Aquaculture Management, Fisheries, Marine Science, Animal Health, Environmental Management, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aquaculture, fisheries management, hatchery operations, aquatic animal health, marine farming, or related roles.
- At least 2 years of experience managing aquaculture facilities, production teams, hatchery operations, or multidisciplinary agricultural projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of aquaculture production systems, fish nutrition, water quality management, biosecurity, aquatic animal health, environmental sustainability, food safety, and operational planning.
- Experience with aquaculture management software, SCADA systems, environmental monitoring platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, GIS tools, ERP systems, and production reporting software.
- Familiarity with AI-powered production analytics, IoT-enabled monitoring systems, automated feeding technologies, predictive health management, drone inspections, and precision aquaculture solutions is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, organizational, project management, budgeting, vendor management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple aquaculture initiatives while balancing production efficiency, environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, animal welfare, budgets, timelines, and organizational objectives.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with distributed operational teams, virtual collaboration platforms, research partners, regulatory agencies, and global stakeholders, with occasional travel for farm inspections, hatchery visits, supplier meetings, or project reviews as required.
