The role — a mini lab inside HeyMax

You'll run a growth and expansion design lab: a small, autonomous unit with one mandate — grow HeyMax's user base, anywhere in the world. That means the full growth surface: how new users discover and activate, how existing users deepen and refer, and how the experience flexes for markets and users we haven't designed for yet. You operate like a startup within the startup — pick the highest-leverage problem, ship an experiment, read the data, decide what's next.

• Global activation — the entire journey from first touch to first value moment, designed to work for any user in any market from day one. This is the engine that lets HeyMax launch a country without rebuilding the product.
• One experience, every market — an adaptive design system where the product reconfigures itself around user state and market maturity. You're not designing screens per country; you're designing the rules that make one product serve a hundred markets.
• Compounding growth loops — referral, sharing, and re-engagement mechanics built to scale across borders. Every experiment you ship becomes reusable infrastructure for the next market.
• The lab's playbook — you set the growth agenda, run the experiment portfolio, and build the repeatable expansion playbook the whole company will run on.
  
  
  

Who You Are

• 5+ years consumer product design, with real growth work — you've owned an activation or acquisition funnel metric, not just designed alongside one.
• Systems thinker: you design state machines, not screens. "What does this surface look like with 1 partner / 10 partners" is a question you ask before drawing anything.
• AI-native: AI tools are your default for prototyping, research synthesis, and copy variants — you move at lab speed because of it. Bonus: you've designed agent or copilot patterns.
• Comfortable with the ambiguity of a market you can't visit — you design research-cheap ways to learn (fake-door tests, concierge MVPs, remote unmoderated tests).
