Filtration Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Filtration Systems Engineer with a specialty in the design and development of Filtration Systems with a focus on high-precision CNC grinding machines and similar applications to join our dynamic team.

Position Description:

The Filtration Systems Engineer is responsible for the design and engineering of coolant filtration systems used in high-precision CNC grinding and similar machine tool applications from concept through troubleshooting after assembly. The Filtration Systems Engineer is responsible for initiating concept designs based on New Product Introduction (NPI) or sales handoff and customer feedback, communicating those design concepts to internal engineering team members through design reviews, developing those designs on 3D modeling and analysis software, and managing those projects to completion. This is an onsite position. Relocation package available.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

·     Design and Development Design, Develop and integrate coolant filtration systems for CNC grinding machines and similar applications. Perform detailed engineering calculations including flow rates, filtration efficiency, and system sizing

·     Innovation in Filtration Technology Enhance filtration performance through innovative design and media  improvements across various filtration systems and technologies

·     Trials, Testing and Run-offs Oversee the prototyping, assembly, and testing of new designs and processes, and refine machine components based on test results to ensure optimal performance. Support trials and run-offs

·     Collaboration Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Applications Engineering teams to integrate filtration systems with CNC machines, control systems, ensuring seamless process functionality. Work closely with purchasing team members and communicate with vendors and customers efficiently and professionally.

·     Technical Support Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support during the assembly and commissioning of filtration systems on-site or at client facilities. Support of the Service department for field repairs.

·     Continuous Improvement Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase productivity of filtration equipment and engineering department.

·     Travel Travel when necessary to customers’ sites or vendor facilities.

Knowledge & Necessary Skills Required:

·       Strong knowledge of filtration technologies, coolant systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and piping systems. Knowledge and application of fluid dynamics is a plus.

·       Proficiency in Solidworks 3D CAD software for modeling, assemblies, drawings, BOM creation and related standards. Familiar with AutoCAD 2D.

·       Familiarity with grinding and machining processes, machine tools, sensors, PLCs, and basic automation integration is a plus

·       Exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and reasoning ability.

·       Understands engineering concepts and machine systems.

·       Knowledge of design for manufacturability.

·       Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects or tasks.

·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Education & Qualifications Required:

·       5+ years practical experience in filtration systems. Experience with CNC grinding machinery or similar high-precision equipment is desired and a plus

·       Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required. Equivalent industry experience of 16+ years may be used in lieu of a university degree
