Must have ECSA certification


We also have another engineer going on maternity leave around mid-August, for a couple months. She mainly handles Active Directory/Exchange on-prem. So it could be 2 candidates


Notes on role:

Mid Level Systems Engineer

• Currently going through at Storage refresh and commonvault

• Also going through a rebrand and have a number of epic projects so need the support from an infrastructure perspective.

• May need to help on the AD and server work

• Change epic branding, go into server scripts and make changes

• Citrix and epic support.



JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities are to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of all IT systems. The primary role is to install, configure and support servers to ensure effective service to the enterprise. This position also serves to ensure systems are configured with an emphasis on redundancy and high availability. Furthermore, systems should be managed effectively to provide maximum uptime and guaranteed recovery time based on management requirements. Critical infrastructure components including MS Exchange, Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, GPO), Citrix, VMWare, Epic and enterprise backup solutions will be managed and monitored. Citrix Netscalers/Citrix ADC/ADM


In addition to performing the essential functions that are listed below, other duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications -

Education: Required- College level courses in Computer Science or relevant experience.

Desired- BS/BA Degree in Computer Science

Licenses/Certifications:

Required- None

Desired- MCSE certification

Experience:

Required-

7+ years of industry experience supporting production systems

Expert knowledge of Exchange, and Active Directory.

Windows servers, Citrix, VMWare, Citrix and VM technologies experience desired.


Preferred-

Experience with load balancers and monitoring systems.

Exposure to Unix and Linux environment.

SQL or Oracle administration experience

Experience with blade systems

Achieving Results

1. Manages all system implementations and upgrades. Installs, maintains, and supports all WHHS server hardware and software. Develops and maintains comprehensive testing processes and procedures for troubleshooting. Coordinates and assists in all server testing and documentation. Ensures validation of operational performance from a LAN and systems perspective.

2. Assesses, documents, and resolves reported problems and questions relative to server systems. Tracks support problems and issues. Assists other systems administration personnel with documentation.

3. Utilizes sophisticated tools to continuously verify that all server functions are performing accurately and in accordance with system documentation. Responsible for the continuous and efficient operation of systems and associated networks. Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance programs to insure integrity and maximum availability of server resources. Resolves performance bottlenecks before they become problems.

4. Develops project plans as needed to successfully implement projects.

5. Projects are monitored and completed on time and within budget.

6. Provides accurate and timely system information and reports health of servers to appropriate individuals.

Demonstrates Skill

1. Demonstrates knowledge in the following technical disciplines: Server hardware and software and mass storage devices such SANs.

2. Demonstrates skills in systems administration and project management including ability to manage and coordinate internal and external resources.

3. Strong knowledge of server architecture.

4. Working experience in products such as Linux, MS Project, MS Office, MS Visio, etc.

5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to train others. Ability to document and maintain system architecture, designs and configurations.

6. Ability to research new technologies and tools and evaluate how they might be applicable to the WHHS organization.

7. Client and service oriented.

8. Need to have analytical and strong troubleshooting skills.

Planning & Coordinating

1. Works effectively with wide range of senior and junior people under project and ad hoc conditions.

2. Evaluates, recommends, plans and implements new server technology solutions in support of expanding business requirements.

3. Designs and documents systems at a logical and physical layer. Initiates and maintains all LAN systems documentation including configuration, inventory, addresses, labeling and cable addressing. Supervises and maintains appropriate physical inventory of all resources. Maintains optimum TCP/IP and other network configuration parameters such as server port settings and network addressing schema.

4. Coordinates workforce and committees to determine access controls, auditability, policy and procedures, and the use of passwords/encryption. Provides technical expertise on system issues and involves vendors as needed.

5. Utilizes processes, standards, and tools to manage projects from inception to implementation. Ensures that projects are well-planned, maintained, communicated and tracked.
