Graduate Frontend Developer

JHC Consulting provides counsel to the highest levels of corporate leadership. We are currently supporting a regional financial services provider that requires deep scrutiny of its internal strategy and governance. To assist with this engagement, we are hiring a Graduate Frontend Developer. This individual will help us move beyond static documents and create clear, digital interfaces that allow board members to examine our findings and the underlying data. Because we are a fully remote firm, this role offers a high level of independence from the start.

The Role
In this role, you will build and maintain the web-based applications we use to present our analysis. For our client, the regional financial services provider, this involves creating interfaces where complex financial assumptions can be adjusted and viewed in real time. You will write code that is as legible and structured as the memoranda our principals produce. Your day to day work includes translating data models into functional views, ensuring site performance is high, and iterating on visual details to maintain our standard of clarity. In our firm, you are not simply executing a task: you are participating in the presentation of a rigorous argument. You will spend a significant portion of your time reading internal cases to understand the context of the data you are visualizing.

What You Bring
We look for candidates who have completed a degree in a technical or design oriented field and have a fundamental understanding of frontend technologies. Proficiency in JavaScript and experience with a framework like React or Vue is expected. However, your technical skills must be matched by your ability to communicate in writing. We value clear thinking and the ability to explain why a particular technical choice was made. You should be comfortable working with HTML and CSS to create clean layouts that prioritize readability over decoration. Since this is an entry level role, we value curiosity and the discipline to learn our specific methods of analysis. Most importantly, you must be able to work autonomously and manage your own output without close supervision.
