Travel: Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional technology initiatives from project initiation through successful completion. This role will be responsible for managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, quality, and stakeholder communications within a matrixed organization.

The ideal candidate is a resourceful, self-motivated project leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills. This individual will work closely with business and technical teams, senior leadership, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver strategic IT initiatives and support business transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of complex IT projects from initiation through final closeout.
  • Partner with project sponsors and cross-functional stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, resources, work plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across business and IT functions to successfully execute complex initiatives.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, quality, resources, risks, issues, and overall performance.
  • Establish project milestones and monitor adherence to approved plans and schedules.
  • Communicate project expectations, progress, risks, issues, and decisions clearly and effectively to project teams, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project status updates, reports, and presentations to management and PMO leadership.
  • Facilitate workshops focused on business requirements, process improvement, value-stream mapping, and solution development.
  • Coordinate the identification and resolution of complex business, technical, data, and system dependencies.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project and program risks.
  • Develop and implement solutions to project issues, including resource allocation, schedule adjustments, and contractual or scope changes.
  • Collaborate with other project and program managers to identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities across multiple initiatives.
  • Partner with vendors and suppliers to support successful project delivery.
  • Support the development and implementation of project management tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Lead projects involving IT infrastructure, systems, business applications, process improvement, and technology transformation.
  • Work effectively with global teams and stakeholders across multiple time zones.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT project management or a comparable project leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects from initiation through completion.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong project planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and resources.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a matrixed organization.
  • Experience working with business and technical teams to identify requirements and develop solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project management or work management platforms such as Monday.com.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar project and development management tools.
  • Experience with Workday, ERP, HCM, or comparable enterprise business systems.
  • Experience supporting global teams or working across multiple time zones.
  • Experience working in a PMO or program management environment.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure services and architecture.
  • Knowledge of information security and data privacy requirements, preferably within a regulated industry.
  • Experience working with IT systems in healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, financial services, or another regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of current IT technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles and experience with IT Service Management (ITSM).
  • Experience with Lean, Agile, or Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating business process mapping, value-stream mapping, and requirements workshops.
  • Experience managing vendors and suppliers.
  • Experience working with C-level and senior leadership.
  • PMP, ITIL, or equivalent certification is preferred.

Education

No specific degree is required. Relevant professional experience, project leadership capabilities, technical knowledge, and strong communication skills will be prioritized.

Work Environment

  • Fully remote within the United States.
  • Candidates located in the Eastern or Central Time Zones are preferred.
  • Standard working hours are approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility.
  • Occasional domestic or international travel may be required based on business needs.

Contract Opportunity

This contract is currently anticipated to run through February 2027, with the possibility of extension. There may also be potential for future conversion to a full-time position based on business needs and performance.
