THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is well-rounded, hands-on, with experience successfully delivering projects from start to completion as the Prime Consultant, either independently or with the support of a team. The ideal candidate has also worked within external, mid-size, commercial A+D firms that operate on billable hours.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Senior Interior Designer, you'll lead and work on projects from start to finish, balancing creative design with technical excellence and client-focused delivery. You'll play a key role in shaping inspiring environments while leading and managing team members and contributing to the studio's collaborative culture.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Leading commercial Tenant Improvement projects from programming through construction administration.
- Manage project staffing, fees, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining exceptional design quality.
- Build trusted relationships with clients to understand their goals, vision, operational needs, and project objectives.
- Develop innovative design concepts that combine creativity, functionality, sustainability, and budget considerations.
- Prepare engaging presentations, design narratives, and material palettes that effectively communicate design intent.
- Produce and reviewing detailed 3D models, renderings, and visual presentations throughout the design process.
- Research and specifying finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment that align with both aesthetic and performance requirements.
- Develop and produce high-quality, coordinated construction documentation and ensuring technical accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with architects, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout every phase of the project.
- Participate in design reviews, studio collaboration sessions, and mentoring opportunities.

We're looking for a confident design professional who enjoys both the creative and technical aspects of commercial interior design and is ready to take on a leadership role.
You Bring
- Min. 8+ years of commercial interior design experience with a strong focus on Workplace, Retail, and other branded Commercial Tenant Improvement projects.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
- NCIDQ certification and Registered Interior Designer (RID) designation in Alberta is a must.
- Strong experience working within architectural or multidisciplinary design firms.
- Excellent knowledge of construction documentation, detailing, building systems, and current National Building Code - Alberta Edition (NBC(AE)) and local bylaws.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to confidently engage clients and project teams.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- A collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and passion for creating outstanding interior environments.
