Job Description

Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Up to £90,000 | Fully remote (UK) | 1 day per month in the office + Up to 25%

We're hiring a Senior Cyber Security Engineer for a company building the core technology platform used by energy suppliers globally, offering a modern alternative to legacy industry systems. Their SaaS platform powers the full customer lifecycle for energy retailers, from onboarding and billing through to real-time customer management. It's a product-led environment operating at real scale, where security and platform reliability are critical.

You'd own the operational health of their security tooling and application monitoring across a heavily AWS and GCP environment. The role sits within the security function and focuses on incident response, GRC automation, and threat intelligence as they spin up new CTI infrastructure.

This is hands-on work across the security tooling stack (MDR, EDR, IDS/IPS, secure web gateway and AWS native tools), automating GRC evidence gathering into a centralised environment, and contributing to threat modelling and architectural design reviews. It's effectively an L3 role, so strong incident response experience is key, alongside Kubernetes security and a DevSecOps or security engineering background in a regulated environment.

What you'll bring:

- Strong incident response experience (L3 level)

- Hands-on across security tooling: MDR, EDR, IDS/IPS, secure web gateways and AWS native tools

- Kubernetes security experience

- GRC automation and evidence gathering

- A DevSecOps or security engineering background in a regulated environment

- Coding ability across .NET, C#, Python or JavaScript

Tech environment: AWS and GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, MDR/EDR/IDS/IPS tooling, secure web gateways, and coding across .NET, C#, Python and JavaScript.

Details:

- Salary: up to £90,000

- Bonus: Up to 25%

- Location: fully remote, 1 day per month in the office

- Team: security engineering function

- Interview process: 2 stages
