GTM Engineer (Full-Stack Engineer)

Join a brand-new engineering team at BAC, where we build HubSpot and Claude into a single system that runs go-to-market for Australian financial services firms. You will engineer the integrations, custom apps and AI agents that make those systems work, alongside an experienced Head of Engineering.

We build HubSpot and Claude into a single system that runs a firm’s go-to-market, and make their people fluent enough to run it. Financial services is our flagship; we also work across manufacturing and distribution, construction and engineering, and healthcare. We build change that holds, not hand-over projects that slip back.

In practice that means HubSpot as the go-to-market context layer, Claude managed agents and Claude Cowork doing real work inside it, and an orchestration layer of MCPs, scoped access and clean data models connecting up to each client’s core systems. All of it runs inside enterprise-grade security for Australian financial services: audit trails, role-based access, data residency, and a human sign-off on what the agents do. This is what you will build.

We are building out a brand-new Engineering team, and you will be an early member of it. Working closely with our experienced Head of Engineering, you will help shape how the team builds, its standards, patterns and tooling, not just the features it ships. Your remit is everything that does not come out of the box: the integrations and custom development that make each client’s stack work, with a clear path into applied AI as the team grows.

The role

Our Engineering team owns the hard technical problems, internal and client-facing, across two areas:

• Custom development. Integrations and automations that connect source and destination systems, plus custom UIs and applications, including bespoke CRM modules where a build calls for it.
• Applied AI. Managed agents, custom agents in the middleware, APIs and MCP servers, and high-impact skills and plugins.

Your first focus is custom development. The strongest applied AI engineers are strong software engineers first, so that is where you will earn your stripes before growing into agentic work.

Joining a new team

The team is new, which means real influence early, with senior support behind you:

• Shape as you build. Standards, patterns and tooling are still being set, and you help set them.
• Senior support from day one. You work closely with an experienced Head of Engineering, so you are never building in the dark.
• Grow as the team grows. From this role toward senior, and from custom development into applied AI, as the team expands around you.

Responsibilities & duties

Custom development and integrations (your first focus)

• Build and maintain integrations and automations between HubSpot and client systems (ERP, accounting, marketing and industry platforms, and file-based sources such as FTP) using Trigger.dev.
• Design reliable source-to-destination data flows with sensible error handling, retries and monitoring, so integrations hold up in production, not just in the demo.
• Develop custom UIs and applications in React and TypeScript, including bespoke CRM modules and internal tooling where a build calls for it.

• Contribute to HubSpot data-model and API work wherever a build touches the platform.

Applied AI (where you’ll grow)

• As you find your feet, build managed and custom agents in the middleware, expose APIs and MCP servers, and develop high-impact skills and plugins.
• Help define the standards and guardrails for how BAC designs, tests and deploys agents safely, given the high blast radius of this work.

Engineering practice

• Translate specifications into working software, writing tests that define success before you build.
• Own delivery end to end: version control, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, code review, and reliable release and iteration.
• Use AI tooling to accelerate delivery while critically validating every output before it ships.
• Build to the standards a regulated financial-services environment demands: scoped access, audit trails, data residency and a human sign-off on agent actions.
• Document builds, data mappings and key decisions so your work is maintainable and ready for handover.
• Flag specification gaps, risks and blockers early, with enough context for others to act.

Collaboration

• Work across internal product and external client engagements as priorities shift.
• Partner with consultants who own the functional design, turning their specifications into tested, working systems.
• Step in wherever a problem falls outside what the platforms do out of the box.

Accountabilities

This is what you own and are answerable for, not just the tasks you carry out:

• Build quality. The custom development and integrations you ship are reliable, tested and maintainable.
• The integration layer. Source-to-destination data flows you build stay dependable in production.
• Spec and test adherence. Nothing you ship goes out without validation against clear success criteria.
• Deployment reliability. The pipelines and releases you own run cleanly and predictably.
• Applied AI standards (growing). As you move into agentic work, the patterns and guardrails for safe, high-impact builds.

About you

You have built real software in a real engineering environment, and the craft matters to you.

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience. This is not an entry-level role, and we are not after AI-only “vibe coders”.
• Full-stack. Comfortable across front and back end, and curious enough to take on problems you have not seen before.
• Solid SDLC grounding, including CI/CD and GitHub Actions. You need not hand-build every pipeline, but you understand how reliable software ships.
• Test-driven by instinct. You spec work with clear success criteria and validate everything. No slop.
• Healthy scepticism. You check outputs, your own and the machine’s, before you rely on them.
• Real agency. You are proactive because you are curious, not because you were told to be.
• Australia-based and eligible. You live in Australia and are an Australian citizen or permanent resident. This role is 100% remote.

You will not tick every box, and that is fine. If you are strong on the fundamentals and hungry to grow into the rest, we want to hear from you.
