About The Role
The role drives the execution of daily people operations, onboarding, compliance, and HR systems management to support a rapidly scaling, distributed team. This position acts as the operational backbone of the HR department, ensuring that employee data is flawless and internal processes run efficiently.
The specialist will take ownership of the HR tech stack, manage international and domestic payroll coordination, and design seamless workflows that improve the overall employee lifecycle from pre-boarding to off-boarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the administration and optimization of HRIS platforms (such as Rippling, Workday, or BambooHR) to ensure absolute data integrity and clean reporting.
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding and off-boarding processes, coordinating with IT, security, and department heads for seamless hardware and software provisioning.
- Administer company-wide benefits programs, including open enrollment, health plans, 401(k), and wellness offerings in compliance with local laws.
- Partner with finance to process semi-monthly payroll and resolve any discrepancies regarding compensation, bonuses, or equity grants.
- Maintain state and federal compliance across all operating jurisdictions, managing mandatory filings, workers' comp, and employee handbook updates.
- Develop and track key people metrics, such as retention, time-to-onboard, and engagement survey data, delivering quarterly insights to leadership.

- 3-6 years of experience in HR operations, people operations, or an HR generalist role, preferably within a fast-growing technology company.
- Deep administrative expertise with modern HRIS platforms, equity management systems, and ATS tools.
- Strong knowledge of US labor laws, benefits administration, and multi-state compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to build reports and analyze workforce trends using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Exceptional empathy, communication skills, and discretion when handling highly confidential employee data.
- Bonus: Experience managing international payroll and compliance through EOR platforms like Deel or Remote, or holding a PHR/SHRM-CP certification.
