We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist who can turn a genuinely good mission into content people stop scrolling for.
SHORTA Skills connects Australian businesses with skilled international workers, making visa sponsorship simple for everyone involved. Behind every post we publish is a real story: a business that found the person it needed, a worker who got a pathway to a new life in Australia. Your job is to tell those stories well, consistently, and in a voice that builds trust with employers and candidates alike.
LinkedIn is your home base, it’s where the SME owners, HR managers, and operators we serve actually spend their time. Instagram and Facebook round out the mix, helping us build a broader, more human brand presence and reach candidates and the community.

With over a decade of experience in migration and skilled visas, we’ve built a platform that takes the complexity out of international hiring and now we’re scaling. That means we need people who want to be part of building something, not just filling a seat.
We’re based on the Gold Coast and operate with a remote-first mindset, a flat structure, and a team that actually cares about the people we help.
• Own the day-to-day content calendar and posting cadence for SHORTA’s LinkedIn page
• Write and design posts that speak directly to Australian SME owners, HR managers, and operations leads
• Turn employer wins, candidate journeys, and founder insights into thumb-stopping posts, carousels, and short-form video
• Grow our follower base and engagement among the exact audience in Australia
• Support founders and team members with personal LinkedIn content, comments, and thought-leadership posts
• Track what’s working (reach, engagement, profile visits, inbound leads) and adjust the content mix accordingly
• Build out a consistent, on-brand presence across both channels - visuals, captions, Stories/Reels, and community replies
• Humanise the brand: behind-the-scenes content, team culture, candidate success stories, and migration myth-busting
• Repurpose LinkedIn content into formats that suit each platform rather than copy-pasting the same post everywhere
• Engage with comments, DMs, and relevant communities to build genuine connection, not just reach
Across All Channels
• Plan and maintain a content calendar aligned with campaigns, hiring pushes, and company milestones

• Source and coordinate content from the team - interviews, quotes, photos, quick video grabs
• Keep our tone consistent: warm, clear, credible, and human - never corporate or salesy
• Monitor social trends and competitor activity, and bring ideas back to the team
• Report on performance and share insights that shape what we post next
You don’t need to tick every box
Essential• Experience managing social media for a brand, business, or personal project — LinkedIn experience especially valued
• Strong writing skills: you can adapt tone across a LinkedIn thought-leadership post, an Instagram caption, and a Facebook community reply
• A good eye to know what makes a post, image, or short video worth stopping for
• Self-starter who can plan a content calendar and stick to it without someone chasing you
• Comfortable with basic content tools (e.g. Canva, CapCut, native scheduling tools)
• Aligned with our values: fairness, inclusion, and doing right by people
• Experience growing a LinkedIn company page or personal brand
• Background in B2B, recruitment, HR tech, or professional services marketing
• Basic photo/video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar)
• Interest in or knowledge of the Australian visa and migration space
• Experience working with founders or in a start-up environment
