About The Role
In this role, you will own performance observability and guide data-driven decisions on system behavior under load. You will partner with Platform Engineering, development teams, and product leadership to surface risks early and ensure scalable, reliable performance across a microservices-based SaaS platform on AWS
Responsibilities
- Design and build performance test suites for microservices and shared platform components on AWS, ensuring coverage across product teams
- Own performance outcomes by defining KPIs, baselines, and thresholds to improve reliability, reduce risk, and support release readiness
- Collaborate with DevX, Platform Engineering, SDET, and product teams to embed performance testing into CI/CD and daily workflows
- Analyze application logs and observability data to detect degradations and establish actionable insights
- Define and execute non-functional tests, including load, stress, spike, and endurance scenarios aligned with business requirements
- Establish and maintain performance baselines across microservices and monoliths, enabling consistent benchmarking for future releases
- Investigate production-like issues and customer-reported problems, performing root cause analysis across APIs, databases, and infrastructure
- Provide optimization recommendations across architecture, APIs, and data layers, and document findings, trends, and measurable improvements for stakeholders

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing and analysis for cloud-hosted, microservices-based SaaS platforms on AWS
- Skills in building performance testing processes from scratch
- Strong experience with performance testing tools such as Locust (must), k6, Gatling, or JMeter
- Proficiency with observability and logging tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK Stack, or CloudWatch
- Solid knowledge of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, ECS/EKS), Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience with SQL analysis, execution plans, indexing and optimization
- Scripting skills in Python or similar for test scenarios, analysis, and lightweight tooling
- Experience with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes and perform statistical analysis, forecasting, and trend evaluation
- Experience working in distributed teams and collaborating across multiple time zones in remote-first environments
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
