About Spurwing
Spurwing is a web design and Webflow agency. We design and build bespoke websites for clients in the UK and internationally, with previous work including Greggs, Just Eat, Aethos Hotels, WPP and Aldi.
We’re looking for a Web Designer with strong UI/UX skills to join our small team. You’ll design bespoke marketing websites in Figma, working closely with our Webflow developers to take projects from early ideas through to polished, build-ready designs.
This is primarily a hands-on website design role. You’ll need good UX judgement and an understanding of how people navigate and use websites, but extensive user research or product-discovery experience isn’t required.
The role is available for three or four days per week, depending on experience and availability. As the agency and its pipeline grow, there may be scope for the role to become full-time.
What you’ll work on
- Designing bespoke websites in Figma
- Developing page structures, user flows and information architecture
- Creating responsive designs for different screen sizes
- Taking projects from early concepts through to launch-ready handover
- Working closely with Webflow developers to ensure designs are practical to build
- Presenting your thinking and responding thoughtfully to client feedback
- Improving headlines, calls to action and basic page copy where appropriate
- Creating occasional case studies, social content, pitch materials and other marketing assets
- Supporting lighter-touch brand refreshes, including wordmark refinements, typography and visual direction

What we’re looking for
- A strong portfolio showing professional website design work
- Confidence using Figma, including components, variables and established design systems
- A good understanding of responsive layouts, user experience and visual hierarchy
- The ability to explain your design decisions clearly
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- Strong project and time-management skills, including keeping tasks updated in project-management software, estimating work realistically and meeting agreed deadlines
- A practical, open-minded approach to AI tools, using them where they can improve the design process or final output without replacing your own judgement
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small, fully remote team
- An existing right to work in the UK
You don’t need to tick every box. We’re more interested in genuine craft, curiosity and good judgement than a perfect checklist.
Useful additional experience
The following would be helpful, but none is essential:
- Copywriting, particularly headlines and calls to action
- Webflow knowledge or experience designing with development constraints in mind
- Marketing, conversion-rate optimisation or growth
- Brand identity or visual-system work
- Motion design, video editing or 3D

- Equipment provided
- Quarterly team meetups
- Support for training and professional development
- Autonomy to help shape our design process
