Senior Cyber Security Engineer in MALTA

My client is a top leading telecommunications company.

This role will require relocation however my client can offer Visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

My client is seeking a skilled Senior Cyber Security Engineer to ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of our organization's systems and networks. This role includes developing and implementing security measures, monitoring network traffic, conducting security assessments, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of cyber security principles, technologies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Policy Development and Review:

• Establish guidelines and document policies based on best practices and industry standards.
• Review and communicate Cyber Security Policies within the company.

1. Security Training and Awareness:

• Deliver cyber security training and guidance to employees to raise awareness and improve security performance.

1. Risk Assessment and Management:

• Collaborate with technical teams to understand the company's environment and risk posture.
• Conduct security reviews for new initiatives or significant changes in the company’s environment.
• Follow the principle of Security by Design and provide feedback on new projects.

1. Vulnerability Management:

• Perform regular internal and external vulnerability scans and ensure timely remediation.
• Monitor the threat landscape to identify and mitigate new vulnerabilities and risks.

1. Compliance and Audit:

• Liaise with auditors and regulators as required.
• Ensure compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCIDSS) requirements.

1. Security Operations:

• Perform day-to-day security tasks such as firewall approvals, user access request vetting, and troubleshooting.
• Manage Security Incident Response, including handling alerts, events, and incidents with corresponding analysis.

1. System Maintenance:

• Ensure the availability of security systems and perform necessary updates/upgrades.

1. Proactive Security Measures:

• Identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Research new cyber security technologies to enhance the company's security posture.

1. Support and Documentation:

• Assist the Cyber Security Senior Manager in defining the company's security roadmap.
• Develop and maintain documentation for all assigned responsibilities.

1. On-Call Availability:

• Provide 24/7 on-call support to address urgent security issues.
