Junior Web Developer - Technical Support for Advisory Services

JHC Consulting provides deliberate counsel to board committees and chief executives on matters of strategy and governance. We believe that written argument produces sharper thinking than conversation, and we deliver our analysis through signed memoranda rather than slide decks. We are currently assisting a Singaporean financial services provider as they expand their operations. This expansion requires technical support to ensure our advisory documents and internal platforms remain secure, legible, and reliable. The Junior Web Developer will support the technical delivery of our written work and maintain the digital environments that allow our principals to provide private counsel from anywhere in the world.

The Role
In this role, your primary task is the maintenance and incremental improvement of the internal systems we use to draft, store, and share our work. This is a technical position that requires an appreciation for the written word. You will work on the layout and typography of digital documents to ensure they meet our rigorous standards for readability. Your day to day work involves the following tasks:

• Maintaining our primary web interfaces to ensure they are available for use by our advisors and clients.
• Writing clean, functional code to update internal document repositories and archival systems.
• Monitoring site performance and troubleshooting errors that might impede the delivery of a signed memorandum.
• Assisting with the technical setup required for the expansion of our work with the Singaporean financial services provider.
• Collaborating with principals to understand how digital interfaces can better serve the discipline of reading and analysis.
• Ensuring that the security protocols of our web applications are strictly followed to protect client discretion.

What You Bring

How We Work
At JHC Consulting, the document is the work. We do not participate in the typical ceremonies of management consulting, such as brainstorming sessions or presentation workshops. Instead, we focus on the reading of internal cases and the drafting of a dissenting view. This is a permanent, full time position that is conducted entirely in a remote environment. We have designed our firm to be small and deliberate, allowing us to focus on a limited number of mandates each quarter. We do not have a physical office, and we expect every person in the firm to manage their own time and workload with professional discretion.
