Job Description

You know database development inside out, and you love talking about the tools that make it better. You spend your time where data professionals gather, sharing insights and helping others solve real problems. If you want to step away from daily query writing and start shaping the community around a product you believe in, this role is for you.

About JetBrains

We create intelligent software development tools for developers and teams. More than 15 million users, over 300,000 organizations, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 companies rely on our products to solve real, complex problems. Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.

What You’ll Do

DataGrip is a core part of our ecosystem and revenue, but we currently lack a dedicated face to represent it to the outside world. We are looking for a Developer Advocate to take ownership of our public presence within developer communities and connect with our global users.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between our users and our product team. You will bring DataGrip to the center of the conversation by diving into online discussions, crafting advocacy content that provides value for years to come, and gathering the real-world feedback we need to build better tools. When we build and launch new database products, you will be involved in the product discussions from inception, leading the way.

Day to day, you will

  • Monitor and join active conversations across platforms like X, Reddit, and Discord to support database professionals.
  • Create high-quality, long-lasting content, including videos and blog posts, that helps users master our tools.
  • Represent DataGrip at conferences by giving technical talks and mingling with the community.
  • Gather real-world user insights and pain points from the field and bring them directly to our internal product teams.
  • Build and sustain visibility across a massive, diverse landscape of database communities.

What You’ll Bring

  • A genuine enjoyment for talking to people and actively engaging with online developer communities all day.
  • A natural curiosity for industry trends and evolving database technologies.
  • An independent mindset comfortable with taking full ownership of public outreach and strategy.
  • Strong communication skills that translate complex technical details into clear, engaging insights.
  • A collaborative approach to working with both highly technical product teams and marketing colleagues.

What You’ll Need

  • A solid technical background in database development.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or other relational databases.
  • A deep understanding of what makes a fantastic database tool.
  • The demonstrated ability to create clear, technical written or video content for developers.
  • The ability to speak publicly and present technical topics confidently at industry events.
  • Fluency in English with a knack for clear, precise communication.
  • The proven ability to navigate and actively participate in online spaces like Reddit, X, and Quora.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll help make DataGrip consistently present and recognized in relevant database discussions worldwide. You’ll build a reliable bridge between our users and the product team, transforming community feedback into actionable tool improvements. Your content will serve as long-lived marketing that continues to educate and attract users, ensuring our voice remains sharp and influential across the entire database ecosystem.
