SRE Engineer

SRE Engineer (Relocation to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

We are scaling an international fintech group across our established markets — Malaysia, India, Indonesia — and new geographies currently under expansion. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to own the reliability and evolution of the infrastructure that powers our product verticals, including BNPL, credit cards, salary-on-demand, SME lending, and BaaS.

This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role. You will work with high-load production infrastructure, make technical decisions independently, and drive the adoption of modern DevOps practices — including AI-powered monitoring. This is not a coordination role: we are looking for an engineer who combines deep technical expertise with ownership, initiative, and a pragmatic, results-first mindset.

What you will do:

• Maintain, develop, and monitor our existing Kubernetes clusters
• Maintain and monitor databases and key-value stores (PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse), identifying and eliminating bottlenecks
• Ensure uninterrupted operation of message queue systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Maintain and evolve the monitoring and alerting stack built on Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, and Grafana

• Integrate AI into monitoring systems
• Participate in infrastructure incident response and root-cause investigation
• Improve and develop the existing GitOps-based CI/CD process (ArgoCD, GitLab, Jira)
• Automate application deployment (Helm + ArgoCD)
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve the infrastructure and introduce new DevOps practices
• Consult and support development and QA teams

What we expect:

• Solid understanding of DevOps goals and principles
• Understanding of the operational specifics of Python applications
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, with a solid understanding of Kubernetes internals
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP stack)
• Experience administering Linux infrastructure
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and show initiative
• Nice to have: experience with the GitOps methodology
• Nice to have: English proficiency
• Strong plus: Python and/or Golang programming skills

Conditions:

• Mandatory relocation to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) after successful completion of a 3-month probation period.
