ABOUT US

ExpatReady is a multi-tenant SaaS platform for immigration firms, covering the full client journey: lead, assessment, consult, retainer, payment, case delivery, and client portal. We are launching with Canadian immigration and building toward a global platform, where each new country is configurable data rather than a new build.

Our product principles:

• Native tooling. Every tool a practitioner needs is built natively in-product (e-signature, email, scheduling, billing, document assembly, form-fill, reporting) rather than relying on third-party integrations.
• Composable architecture. One capability equals one module equals one toggle. This is a composable platform, not a monolithic CRM.
• Content-neutral engine. The core system holds no immigration content; all domain knowledge is versioned, structured data.
• AI-native. We build with AI tools as part of our daily engineering process, and we are developing an AI companion layer as the next phase of the product.

The architecture and foundational requirements are locked and in active development, led by our engineer, Arun. We are now adding a founding-level full-stack engineer to build alongside him.

THE ROLE

You will own significant surface area across the stack, including backend services, data modeling, and frontend, building the platform from its foundation. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role with direct influence over architecture and product decisions. You will work closely with the founder and Arun on:

• A multi-tenant platform with strict tenant isolation (PostgreSQL Row-Level Security), a canonical data spine, and configuration-as-data
• In-house native tools, including e-signature, mailer, scheduler, biller, document assembly, form-fill, and reporting
• Country-pack machinery, including questionnaires, document-requirement engines, government-form field maps, and eligibility scoring
• Three consoles: a Super-Admin control plane, the Agent (firm-staff) application, and the Client Portal
• A later-stage AI companion layer (agents, tool use, retrieval) built on top of the platform

TECH STACK

Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, Prisma, PostgreSQL (with Row-Level Security), Redis and BullMQ, S3, AWS (ca-central-1), React 19, Vite, Refine, shadcn/ui, and Tailwind CSS. The system is structured as a modular monolith within a monorepo, with event-driven internal architecture.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience shipping production full-stack web applications, with real ownership of both backend and frontend

• Strong TypeScript skills end-to-end, with hands-on experience in NestJS (or a comparable Node framework), Prisma or TypeORM, and PostgreSQL
• Senior-level React experience (hooks, data-fetching patterns, component architecture)
• Experience building or maintaining a multi-tenant SaaS product, with a solid understanding of tenant isolation and RBAC
• Regular use of AI coding tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot) in your daily workflow, with the ability to review and verify AI-generated output
• Strong fundamentals in data modeling, API design, authentication, asynchronous processing, and testing
• Ability to work full-time, remote from India, with daily overlap into Canadian business hours
• Excellent written English and strong self-directed, asynchronous communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in regulated or privacy-sensitive domains (PIPEDA, GDPR, PII handling, audit trails)
• Experience building AI or LLM product features, such as RAG, agents, structured output, or evaluation pipelines
• Background in immigration, legal tech, fintech, or other vertical SaaS
• Experience with payments (Stripe), e-signature, document or PDF processing, or workflow engines
