We’re hiring a Manufacturing Controls & Robotics Engineer in Alma, Michigan (Direct Hire). Pay: $95,000–$100,000 annually based on proven experience. Relocation available.
Is this you?
- Fluent in Allen‑Bradley PLC/HMI environments (SLC 500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, PanelView)?
- Comfortable integrating robotics, vision, servo motion, and MES into high‑volume automotive assembly?
- Hands‑on problem solver who can trace faults across Ethernet/IP, DH+, DH‑485, and RS‑232 networks?
- Equally at home editing logic, updating AutoCAD schematics, and coaching technicians on troubleshooting?

- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI control systems to improve OEE and reliability.
- Support production and maintenance to minimize downtime; resolve AC/DC and PNP/NPN sensor issues.
- Commission new equipment and manage machine buyoffs to plant specifications and safety standards.
- Lead continuous improvement and introduce technologies that elevate efficiency and product quality.
- Participate in vendor quoting, design reviews, and standardization for cost‑effective solutions.
- Maintain plant‑wide controls documentation; manage electrical spare parts (crib stock).
- Train maintenance and operations teams on new systems and troubleshooting techniques.

- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of controls engineering in manufacturing; automotive interiors or Tier 1 preferred.
- Strong PLC programming and HMI development skills; working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Experience with automated assembly using Poka‑Yoke and MES; injection molding exposure is a plus.
- Electrical proficiency from 480 VAC three‑phase and 110 VAC power to 24 VDC control circuits.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects, equipment validation, and buyoff procedures.
- Excellent communication and collaboration; Microsoft Office proficiency.
