Junior Web Developer

Blue Oak Consulting is looking for a Junior Web Developer to help build and maintain the digital tools used for complex financial analysis and decision modeling. This role directly supports an engagement with a prominent Italian client where technical precision is required to translate pricing strategies and capital allocation models into functional web based interfaces.

The Role
As a Junior Web Developer, you will work within a fully remote team to translate financial logic into functional web interfaces. Unlike traditional development agencies, we do not build marketing sites or generic landing pages. We build the internal calculators, dashboards, and data interfaces that our consultants use to stress test corporate assumptions for our clients. You will collaborate with senior analysts to ensure data is presented clearly and that the code behind it matches the financial models. This role requires a disciplined approach to work and a willingness to understand the underlying numbers that the software is intended to process.

What You Will Be Doing

• Writing clean HTML and CSS to build functional internal tools for data analysis.
• Using JavaScript to create interactive charts and data visualization components that reflect financial trends.
• Working with our technical team to support a prominent Italian client's portfolio modeling needs through custom web applications.
• Assisting in the development of custom pricing calculators and financial logic scripts.
• Testing web tools to ensure they work reliably and display calculations accurately under different user scenarios.
• Documenting the technical architecture and logic of our internal dashboards for future maintenance.
• Participating in routine reviews of project requirements to ensure the technical solution meets the financial goal.
• Translating Excel based financial concepts into responsive and user friendly web applications.

What You Bring

• Foundational knowledge of front end development, specifically HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field, though recent or upcoming graduates are also encourage to join.
• An interest in financial data and the ability to understand simple economic concepts like profit and loss.
• High attention to detail and the ability to notice when a number is out of place or a layout is misaligned.
• A disciplined approach to remote work and the ability to manage your own schedule without constant supervision.
• Curiosity about how businesses make decisions and how technical tools can support those choices.
• Strong communication skills in English for collaborating with a remote, principal led team.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing code updates.
