The Role:
- As a Junior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our data infrastructure on AWS. You will work closely with our data team to develop, manage, and optimise data pipelines using DBT and SQL. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills in data engineering and work with cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines on AWS.
- Utilise DBT (Data Build Tool) to transform data and ensure data quality.
- Write efficient SQL queries to support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving best practices and standards.
- Document data engineering processes and workflows.
Requirements:
- Proficienct in English
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with DBT or similar data transformation tools.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, RDS, Redshift, and Lambda.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- **Preferred Qualifications:**
- Previous internship or project experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Understanding of Python, Scala, Java, or another programming language used for data processing.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
