Research Scientist - Circadian Neural Networks
Investigate gene expression in circadian neural networks using molecular and electrophysiological approaches. Perform single-cell gene expression analysis, stereotaxic surgeries, slice electrophysiology, bulk RNA sequencing, behavioral experiments, and spatial genomics. Requires PhD in Circadian Biology with 6+ years post-PhD experience and excellent English communication skills.

Job Description
New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to appoint a Research Scientist to investigate gene expression in circadian neural networks. The successful applicant will use a combination of molecular and electrophysiological approaches to investigate how gene expression contributes to the rhythms in excitability and plasticity of circadian clock neurons in rodents . The project will be based at NYU Abu Dhabi and will be co-supervised by Dipesh Chaudhury and Justin Blau.
Responsibilities
- Perform single cell gene expression from mice brain nuclei and single cell data analysis
- Stereotaxic surgeries for circuit tracing and silencing specific genes
- Perform slice electrophysiology and data analysis using Clampfit
- Bulk RNA sequencing and data analysis
- Mice behavioral experiments using wheel running, PIR etc.
- Mice brain immunohistochemistry
- Spatial genomics
