About the company

Our client is a Series B commerce AI platform partnering with some of the world's largest consumer brands to power dynamic, personalized shopping experiences. They have raised $75M from tier-one investors, including a $45M Series B, and were named the #1 commerce startup by a leading tech publication. ARR has grown more than 5x since their Series A, and enterprise customers are already live at scale. They are building the infrastructure for agentic commerce, where AI agents, not just people, do the shopping.

The role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will sit at the front line of that bet: embedding with enterprise brands, building AI-powered commerce solutions in days, and turning one-off wins into platform capabilities. This is 80% engineering and 20% customer-facing.

What you'll do

• Own a portfolio of enterprise brand engagements, unblocking long-running priorities and turning around quick wins, often within a single day

• Build MVPs from client problem to working demo in days, not weeks, scoping and shipping end to end with minimal oversight

• Embed directly with enterprise customers on-site to implement solutions inside their own codebases

• Use AI tools aggressively to multiply your output: agents, automation, and whatever is newest in your workflow

• Feed learnings back into the core platform, productizing one-off solutions for use across every enterprise customer

• Work directly with the founders on the frontier of agentic commerce

What we're looking for

• 2 to 5+ years of full-stack product engineering, ideally at a startup or high-growth environment

• Full-stack production coding ability (TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Node.js or similar), shipping deployable code independently

• B2B client-facing engineering experience: you have personally scoped and delivered technical solutions to external customers

• Active, daily use of AI coding tools and agents (Claude, Cursor, or equivalent), with strong opinions and a constantly evolving workflow

• Demonstrated product impact tied to real business outcomes: you can speak to the revenue made or saved, not just the code shipped

• Comfort operating in ambiguity, with customer context driving how you build

• Ex-founder or early-stage operator with a 0 to 1 product you can point to

• Active public GitHub with side projects or weekend builds

• Experience with Go

• $180K to $250K base, plus an annual bonus and competitive equity

Location and work model

Hybrid, 3 days per week in office in San Francisco, CA. Light domestic travel, roughly 10% per year. Visa transfers are supported (for example, existing H-1B transfers). New H-1B sponsorship from student visa status is not available.
