Their platform enables mission-critical information sharing in real time, replacing outdated workflows with secure, intelligent solutions that help first responders make faster, more informed decisions.
They are seeking a Security Operations Engineer to take ownership of security operations across a cloud-native SaaS platform. This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you'll help define security strategy, strengthen detection and response capabilities, automate compliance, and partner closely with engineering teams to build security into every stage of the development lifecycle.

What You'll Do
- Own key areas of security operations and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen security posture.
- Develop and improve security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response processes.
- Build and automate security controls across AWS infrastructure, applications, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Translate compliance requirements into automated, continuously verifiable controls.
- Lead SOC 2 operational activities, including evidence collection, access reviews, audit readiness, and control management.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous security improvements.
- Develop automation using Python, Go, or similar scripting languages.
- Partner with infrastructure, backend, and product engineering teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate and leverage AI tools to improve threat detection, triage, compliance workflows, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct security reviews, advise engineering teams, and contribute to long-term security strategy.

Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in Security Operations, Cloud Security, or DevSecOps.
- Hands-on experience supporting SOC 2 compliance and audits.
- Strong knowledge of AWS security services, including IAM, networking, encryption, logging, and secrets management.
- Experience securing CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Python, Go, or another scripting language.
- Solid understanding of cloud security, application security, and infrastructure security best practices.
- Experience with incident response and security monitoring.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical risk to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities.
