Founding Full Stack Engineer, build the layer that turns a trading thesis into settled action

Are you a backend-leaning engineer who's worked at a genuinely high-pedigree, talent-dense startup, and knows what great engineering culture actually looks like from the inside? Have you owned a product surface end to end, from the interface someone types into, through to money actually moving? Do you want to be one of the first engineers at a company building something that doesn't have a playbook yet, where the judgment call about what to build is the job?

A very early-stage fintech AI startup, backed by top-tier investors, is hiring one of its first three engineering hires. They're building the execution layer that turns natural language financial intent into real, settled action, letting anyone with a thesis act on it without needing a hedge fund or a brokerage in between

They're a tiny team of five in Palo Alto, freshly funded with a serious seed round, and moving fast. This is about as ground floor as it gets

What You'll Do

• Own the product surface end to end, from the chat interface through the agent loop to the execution rails that settle real trades
• Take a feature from a napkin sketch to a flow real traders use, entirely yours
• Bring the best engineering practices and culture you've picked up elsewhere, the protocols, the code review norms, the way you ship under pressure
• Hunt your own scope, identify what the product needs next and propose it yourself
• Own multiple projects from genesis to completion, with direction rather than a queue

The Founders

Backed by two of the most respected investors in tech and trading. You'll work directly with the founders shaping product decisions day to day, in a room small enough that what you build defines the company

The role is in-person, five days a week in Palo Alto. They want someone who wants to be there while the foundations get built

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a backend-leaning engineer
• Experience at high-pedigree, talent-dense startups, not big companies
• Strong TypeScript and Python
• Comfortable with ambiguity and undefined problems, most of what this role involves does not have a correct answer yet
