Machine Learning Engineering Manager

About the Company: Our client is an innovative, fast-growing scale-up building a space equipment.

The Role: Our client is seeking a technically deep Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead and anchor their high-performing ML Engineering team in Luxembourg. This is a 100% leadership and strategic role (no hands-on coding required). The primary challenge will be serving as a formidable technical sounding board, reviewing complex model architectures, and guiding a highly intelligent, collaborative, and opinionated team of engineers toward building robust, production-ready MLOps pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Guidance: Act as a strong architectural sounding board for the team; review technical designs, training pipelines, and code quality for deep learning models.
• People & Performance Leadership: Foster a healthy, collaborative culture. Challenge ideas constructively, manage performance, and coach engineers on technical excellence.

• Production Scale: Drive the implementation of modern MLOps best practices (CI/CD for ML, experiment tracking, containerized workflows) to deploy models into reliable production pipelines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with software, data engineering, and product teams to turn cutting-edge models into commercial software solutions.

Requirements:

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision, with a solid track record of leading or mentoring engineering teams (Tech Leads with strong leadership potential are welcome).

• Technical Depth: Deep expertise in deep learning architectures (CNNs, transformers, self-supervised learning) and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Infrastructure Knowledge: Solid understanding of modern MLOps practices, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Mindset: Strong commercial acumen; the ability to guide a highly capable team toward business-driven results.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Location: Luxembourg (Hybrid / Relocation & Visa Support Available)

Salary: €120,000 – €140,000 + Stock Options + Benefits
