About the Company
An international company at the forefront of space technology is seeking an AOCS On-Orbit Support Engineer to join its spacecraft operations team. This role focuses on monitoring satellite performance, analysing telemetry, supporting mission operations, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of spacecraft throughout their mission lifecycle.
About the Role
Working closely with engineering and operations teams across multiple locations, you will contribute to real-time spacecraft operations, anomaly investigations, and continuous improvements to operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Monitor spacecraft telemetry and evaluate on-orbit system performance.
- Analyse operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential performance issues.
- Support real-time spacecraft operations and assist with the investigation of unexpected behaviour.
- Collaborate with Flight Engineering and Mission Operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational anomalies.
- Validate software updates, calibration activities, and operational parameter changes.
- Review spacecraft performance against operational requirements and engineering expectations.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of operational procedures.
- Ensure operational activities comply with established engineering processes and mission procedures.
- Coordinate with international engineering teams to maintain continuous operational support during critical mission activities.
- Document operational findings, anomaly investigations, and corrective actions.
- Support the long-term monitoring of multiple spacecraft operating simultaneously.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Academic knowledge of orbital mechanics, spacecraft dynamics, or satellite operations.
Required Skills
- Previous exposure to satellite operations, mission control, or aerospace engineering is considered an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of orbital mechanics and spacecraft attitude control principles.
- Familiarity with spacecraft operations or mission support activities.
- Ability to analyse telemetry and evaluate spacecraft performance.
- Experience identifying anomalies and performing root cause investigations using operational data.
- Knowledge of spacecraft health monitoring and fault management.
- Ability to interpret engineering data and make informed operational decisions.
- Experience reviewing software behaviour and identifying potential issues through operational analysis.
- Understanding of spacecraft operational safety principles.
- Ability to manage operational priorities across multiple spacecraft simultaneously.
Technical Skills
- MATLAB and Simulink.
- Basic knowledge of C++.
- Experience using Jira or comparable issue-tracking tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to analyse telemetry and engineering datasets.
- Understanding of spacecraft operations, orbital mechanics, and Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS).
