Head of Tech Retail and Channels in UNITED KINGDOM

Our client an award-winning bank in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Head of Tech Retail and Channels to join them in the UAE.

The Head of Retail Banking and Channels Technology will be a senior leader responsible for driving technology strategy and operations within the retail banking division.

Reporting directly to the Group CIO, this role will oversee a value stream-driven structure encompassing various technology platforms critical to delivering retail banking products and services.

The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in banking principles and a demonstrated ability to lead technology initiatives in a complex and dynamic environment.

In addition to leading technology initiatives, this role will have a significant relationship management component, working closely with the Global Head of Retail Banking and the Group Chief Digital Officer to ensure alignment between technology and retail banking/digital strategies.

The Head of Retail would need to have experience with:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in retail banking technology platforms and systems, including core banking, digital channels, payment processing, and CRM. Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and cloud computing. Solid understanding of retail banking products and services.
• Regulatory Compliance: Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to retail banking technology, particularly within the context of Islamic banking principles. Ability to navigate regulatory challenges while supporting business objectives.
• Senior leadership experience in technology, with a focus on retail banking and channels.
• Strong background in product management and business relationship management is highly desirable.
• Experience with card management systems such as Prime from TSYS, loan origination systems like Finnone from Nucleus, Visa, Ambit cash management, Advent, TradeNet etc and branch transformation is a plus.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
