About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Game Designer to join our Fable team on a permanent basis. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of key design areas, contribute to refining our development processes and pipelines, and serve as a dependable, autonomous team member. Your primary responsibility will be to champion quality across the game, ensuring that every aspect of design aligns with our creative vision. The ideal candidate will be flexible, motivated, approachable, and passionate about delivering exceptional gaming experiences.

As a Senior Game Designer, you will work closely with a talented, multidisciplinary team to implement and iterate on game systems, mechanics, and features. This role is based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa, offering a hybrid work model with a minimum of three days in the studio each week. We also provide relocation assistance if needed, supporting your seamless integration into our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will possess extensive industry experience in game design, ideally contributing to high-profile AAA titles. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for collaborating effectively across disciplines. You should demonstrate proficiency in designing game systems and mechanics, with the ability to align teams around your design intent. Experience with scripting tools or similar implementation techniques is highly desirable, along with a proven track record of problem-solving throughout all development stages.

We value candidates who show a genuine passion for games, are highly reliable, and capable of working independently. Familiarity with scripting languages such as C++, C#, or similar is a plus, though not mandatory. A collaborative mindset and openness to diverse perspectives are crucial for success in this role, as is a demonstrated commitment to quality and innovation in your previous work.

Responsibilities

• Implement game systems and features using our proprietary engine and tools, ensuring high standards and alignment with the project’s creative vision.
• Create, maintain, and refine detailed feature and system designs that enhance gameplay and player engagement.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including artists, programmers, and producers, to deliver cohesive and polished game experiences.
