Job Description

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a cross-functional product team. In this role you will own the quality strategy across a modern, API-first product stack — designing test frameworks, driving CI/CD quality gates, and mentoring colleagues to raise the overall engineering bar. The split is approximately 30% front-end / 70% back-end testing.

What you will do:

  • Plan and execute integration, system, and usability testing across the full product.
  • Participate in end-to-end (E2E) and user acceptance testing (UAT) cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to understand critical paths and maintain product stability.
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks for web, API, mobile, and performance testing.
  • Drive CI/CD quality gates and own pipeline integration of test suites.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote good programming practices within QA and Dev teams.
  • Lead proof-of-concept and showcase activities when evaluating new tools and technologies.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers — sharing knowledge, reviewing work, and raising team standards.
  • Foster a culture of quality and proactive problem-solving across engineering squads.

What we are looking for:

Minimum 5+ years of hands-on test automation experience.

Core technical skills:

  • Proficiency in Java and/or JavaScript for test development.
  • Strong expertise in Git and version control workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing and validation.
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD processes and tooling.
  • Excellent understanding of API response structures and contract testing.
  • Experience with performance testing methodologies and execution.
  • Solid grasp of SDLC across the full software delivery lifecycle.
  • Strong command of programming best practices: SOLID, KISS, OOP, design patterns.
  • Experience in code review and promoting development standards.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies (POC, showcase).
  • Familiarity with Jira; experience with X-ray plugin is a plus.

Automated testing toolchain:

Web front-end:

  • Selenium / Selenide (primary web testing tool)
  • Cypress (used by select teams)
  • TestNG / JUnit
  • Cucumber
  • JMeter (nice to have)

API testing:

  • REST Assured
  • TestNG / JUnit
  • Gatling (nice to have)

Mobile testing:

  • Appium
  • XCUI Test (for specific teams)

Performance:

  • Gatling (lead performance tool in organisation)
  • JMeter (nice to have)

Soft skills:

  • English: B2–C1 (working proficiency required for daily collaboration).
  • Clear and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A genuine mentoring mindset — you enjoy helping others grow.
  • Proactive approach: you surface issues early and propose solutions.
  • Good planning, prioritisation, and the ability to handle context switching.
  • Drive to champion technical innovation and continuous improvement.

What We Offer

  • B2B contract
  • Fully remote work with minimal required on-site presence - 1 day every two weeks on-site (Thursday) at the client's office in Warsaw.
  • Additional on-site sessions 2–3 days every 2–3 months for planning and team alignment.
  • Engagement in technically challenging projects with a mature engineering culture.
