Role Description This is a remote contract role focused on Twilio-based development and integration for XTel’s cloud telephony platform. The Twilio specialist will design, implement, and maintain Twilio workflows, including call routing, IVR menus, messaging flows, and number management to support XTel’s virtual phone services. Day-to-day tasks include configuring Twilio APIs, building and updating server-side logic, monitoring performance and reliability, and troubleshooting issues related to voice and messaging functionality. The role also involves collaborating with product and support teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, improving existing features, and contributing to documentation and best practices for Twilio usage. The contractor is expected to work independently, meet agreed timelines, and ensure secure, scalable, and compliant telecommunication solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Twilio products and APIs (Voice, Messaging, Programmable IVR, Studio flows) and cloud-based telephony solutions.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., JavaScript/Node.js, Python, or similar) and RESTful API integration.
- Background in telecom, VoIP, or contact center solutions, including call routing, SIP/telephony concepts, and system integrations.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and deployment practices (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), including monitoring and performance optimization.
- Experience with security and compliance best practices for communications platforms, such as data privacy and access control.
- Ability to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and document configurations, workflows, and code clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and comfort working remotely as an independent contractor.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional, distributed teams.
- Prior experience in a SaaS environment or with business communication tools is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred but not required.
