Position Overview
Speer Technologies is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our growing team. This is a high-impact, full-time, fully remote role open to candidates across Canada (with in-office options available for those in or near Toronto), ideal for someone who brings strong visual design sensibility, a user-centered mindset, and the versatility to work across web and mobile products in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
You'll work closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to design beautiful, functional interfaces from concept through handoff. This role spans the full design lifecycle: from research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototypes, design systems, and branding. You'll also contribute to visual identity work for both Speer and our partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface Design: Design polished, intuitive interfaces for web and mobile products across multiple industries, from wireframes through high-fidelity prototypes.
- Design Systems: Build and maintain scalable design systems and component libraries in Figma for new and existing products.
- Branding & Visual Assets: Create logos, branding materials, graphics, illustrations, and social media assets for Speer and its partners.
- Collaboration & Iteration: Share work early and often, incorporating feedback from internal teams, partners, and UX research to strengthen design outcomes.
- Design Handoff: Partner with development teams to ensure pixel-perfect execution, providing clear specs, assets, and documentation.
- Research & Best Practices: Stay current on design trends, accessibility standards, and UX best practices to continuously elevate the quality of Speer's products.

Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in mobile and web product design.
- Bachelor's degree in Design (or related program) or completion of a UX/UI certificate course.
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including component creation, prototyping, and design system management.
- Experience with iterative, agile design processes and rapid prototyping.
- Comfortable with tools such as Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, or InVision.
- Experience using website-building platforms (WordPress, Squarespace, Framer, or similar).
- Strong understanding and execution of core design principles: hierarchy, typography, color, spacing, and layout.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently.
- Proactive and self-directed, with a strong willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and grow.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with illustration, motion design, or animation.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Experience designing for health tech, AI, or deep tech products.

Compensation
