Role Description
- The Associate Data Scientist will support data-driven decision-making across Why Hiring’s products and operations. In this full-time remote role, you will collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to generate insights on user behavior, job performance, and platform effectiveness. You will develop and maintain analytical models, dashboards, and reports to monitor key metrics and support experimentation. The role includes collaborating with product, marketing, and operations teams to frame business questions, translate findings into clear recommendations, and help improve user experience and matching quality. You will also assist in documenting methodologies, maintaining data quality standards, and implementing basic statistical tests to validate hypotheses.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Data Science and applied Statistics to support modeling, experimentation, and evidence-based recommendations.
- Proficiency in Data Analytics and Data Analysis for cleaning, transforming, and interpreting complex datasets.
- Experience with Data Visualization to build clear, intuitive dashboards and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with analytical tools and languages (e.g., Python or R, SQL, and common data science libraries).
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics) or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly, both in writing and verbally, to diverse audiences.
- Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment with distributed teams and managing time independently.
- Interest in the future of work, remote careers, and marketplace or platform products; prior experience in a tech or staffing environment is a plus.
