About The Role

As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in GenAI and Agentic Workflows at Machinify, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing large-scale, innovative AI systems that revolutionize Payment Integrity and Audit processes. Your expertise will lead the creation of document processing pipelines capable of handling hundreds of millions of documents annually, including medical records, claims, and benefits data. You will develop and implement agentic workflows that review and validate millions of healthcare claims per year, ensuring accuracy and payment integrity. Additionally, you will drive innovation in prompt development lifecycle, multi-modal large language models (LLMs), context extraction, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), workflow orchestration frameworks, and system observability. Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Data Science, Data Engineering, and Product, you will deliver end-to-end AI-powered solutions that automate complex workflows. Your leadership will also involve mentoring engineers, addressing infrastructure needs, reducing technical debt, and enhancing system reliability and scalability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of AI technology and make a significant impact on healthcare operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in building agentic systems or AI-driven workflows in enterprise settings
• Proficiency in Java and Python; experience with Scala is a significant plus
• Experience designing and scaling large-scale, distributed systems and pipelines, especially processing unstructured data such as healthcare records or documents
• Proven ability to productionize AI/ML techniques, including LLM prompt engineering, RAG, workflow automation, and agent development, with a focus on reliability, observability, and explainability
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Strong fundamentals in computer science, including data structures, asynchronous programming, and system design
• Experience in reducing manual processes through automation, particularly within healthcare, fintech, or regulated domains
• Collaborative mindset with experience working closely with data scientists and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
• A passion for advancing AI to achieve superior accuracy and efficiency at scale

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
