Key Responsibilities
Analyze and document client requirements, translating transportation challenges into actionable technical specifications
Collaborate with engineers, planners, and transportation agency clients to streamline workflows and enhance system interoperability
Support discovery, procurement, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure technology projects
Coordinate cross-functional meetings and ensure clear communication between stakeholders, consultants, and vendors
Develop business process workflows (as-is/to-be) that span capital project delivery, roadway asset management, real-time traffic operations, and tolling infrastructure
Support business and technical requirement development across PMIS, asset management, traffic management and tolling systems, ensuring alignment with agency operational and capital program objectives
Support application testing, training, and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Technology Business Analyst to be based in Piscataway, NJ. Our New Jersey based Transportation team are involved in planning, preparation and design for New Jersey transportation projects. This is a wonderful opportunity to work on a variety of exciting design/build projects that are highly visible adding value to your career development. These could be small, medium and large projects. If you would enjoy being part of a Global Team interacting with colleagues globally, this will give you some global exposure, as well.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyze and document client requirements, translating transportation challenges into actionable technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and transportation agency clients to streamline workflows and enhance system interoperability.
  • Supporting discovery, procurement, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure technology projects.
  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings and ensure clear communication between stakeholders, consultants, and vendors.
  • Develop business process workflows (as-is/to-be) that span capital project delivery, roadway asset management, real-time traffic operations, and tolling infrastructure.
  • Support business and technical requirement development across PMIS, asset management, traffic management and tolling systems, ensuring alignment with agency operational and capital program objectives.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of relevant experience in transportation engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience with New York Transportation clients

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Information Systems, IT, Business Administration, or Computer Science.
  • Experience working in NJ Transportation agencies.
  • Experience with Agile & Waterfall Methodologies, Application Design, Data Analysis & Visualization Digital & Technology Software Development, Software-ESRI ArcGIS, Microsoft Office.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $110000 to $115000.
