Job Description

About Analogue

Analogue is an experiential travel platform. Our north star is to enable exceptional travel by combining human-led, AI-powered curation and a vetted global network of high-taste locals and boutique operators to deliver more immersive, on-the-ground experiences for travelers.

We've raised from top-tier investors and built the first version of the product. We're hiring the founding technical team now to accelerate our development and time-to-market.

In a world that's becoming increasingly algorithmic, we're amplifying the human touch.

Team background

Analogue is founded by Bjarni, who grew up in the Faroe Islands and has lived this industry from nearly every angle. He co-founded REMÓT Travel, the leading luxury travel company in the Faroe Islands, featured in the Financial Times and Condé Nast Traveler. Before Analogue he was at Bain & Company in New York and on the early teams at Bob W, a European hospitality startup, and Razor Group, a Berlin-based unicorn. He's worked as a chef and bartender, backpacked through 40+ countries, and cares deeply about the experiential side of travel.

About the role

You'll build Analogue's AI-native product layer: the agentic workflows and advisor-facing tools that take repetitive work off a designer's plate so they can spend their time on judgment, taste, client relationships, and the details that set a trip apart.

When all client context lives in one place - forms, emails, call notes, itineraries - and is connected to live inventory, the system can draft responses, manage supplier coordination, and surface the right trip for the right client at the right moment. The designer stays in control of every decision that needs taste and judgment.

This is a hands-on role. You'll write code, work directly with our travel designers, make product calls, and ship the workflows people use every day. You'll work closely with the founder and alongside the engineering team building our booking infrastructure.

What you'll own

  • Agentic workflows: Design and ship the agents that do real work on a designer's behalf: drafting client communications, running supplier coordination, comparing rate options, and assembling itineraries, with the right orchestration, evals, and human oversight.
  • Advisor-facing product: Build the tools travel designers live in day to day. You care about design and how it feels to use, not just whether it works.
  • The intelligence layer: Turn the context we capture (client history, preferences, communications) into proactive, personalized suggestions: the right trip, the right offer, the right moment.
  • Ship fast, learn fast: Take an ambiguous product need, turn it into something real quickly, put it in front of users, and iterate on what you learn.

Who we're looking for

You have roughly 2 to 5 years of engineering experience and you ship fast. You've built customer-facing software across the stack, likely as a founding or early engineer at a startup that grew, and you're at home in high-ambiguity, early-stage environments where you turn a vague idea into a working product without waiting for a perfect spec.

You've shipped production AI features (agents, retrieval, embeddings, tool use), and you've dealt with what's hard about them in production: latency, cost, evals, and the long tail of cases where the model gets it wrong.

Bonus if you've shipped production features in one or more of these areas:

  • Agentic or AI-native systems: You've built systems that take meaningful action on a user's behalf, with proper trust patterns, orchestration, evals, and human oversight.
  • Consumer-grade product: You've built things people actually enjoy using, where the UI and the details mattered as much as the logic.
  • Hospitality, travel, or marketplaces: You've worked somewhere coordination and real-world reliability were part of the job.

Stack

You don't need our exact stack, but you should be comfortable ramping quickly across:

  • Product engineering: TypeScript, React/Next.js, modern serverless or reactive backends, and the cloud surface around them.
  • Applied AI: the major model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), agent orchestration, evals, retrieval, embeddings, tool use, multimodal APIs.
  • Integrations: working against third-party APIs and the realities of messy external data.
  • Production: shipping features that are reliable, observable, and hold up at scale.

The person who will thrive here

You're pragmatic, product-minded, and care about design. You take an ambiguous problem and build something genuinely useful, fast, and you care how it feels to use, not just whether it runs.

You're excited about experiential travel itself: taste, place, and the texture of a great trip. You want to build technology that makes every trip truly an N of 1.

Details

  • Location: NYC, in-office*
  • Type: Full-time
  • Reports to: Founder/CEO
  • Compensation: $175K to $250K base, depending on experience
  • Equity: Meaningful founding-team equity, negotiable per person. You'd be one of our first hires, and the equity reflects it. Happy to walk through it on a call.
  • Visa sponsorship: Yes, for the right person. The founder has been through the immigration process himself.
  • Perks: A $5K annual leisure travel stipend (go anywhere, use it or lose it), unlimited AI tooling, and the usual benefits (health, dental, vision, flexible PTO).

*We are building this together, sitting alongside the travel designers we serve. We move faster, decide better, and frankly have more fun that way. Relocation considered for an exceptional fit.

Our process

Intro conversation, a technical discussion on how you think, a paid take-home based on actual Analogue-style problems, and a final onsite in NYC.

How to apply

Send your resume, or a link to your LinkedIn or GitHub, plus a short note on the most technically difficult system, integration, or product you've shipped.
