Infrastructure Engineer – iGaming | Malta (Remote) | €45,000–€50,000 Benefits
Are you an Infrastructure Engineer looking for an opportunity to take ownership of services, work across a modern enterprise environment, and continue developing your technical expertise within the iGaming sector?
The Opportunity
We're working with a well-established and growing iGaming operator that is looking to appoint an Infrastructure Engineer to join its Infrastructure team in Malta.
This is a fully remote role (based in Malta) with the option to work from the office if preferred.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving infrastructure services across multiple European locations, including data centres and offices. You'll work closely with internal teams and third-party providers to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across the estate.
The business is looking for someone with solid infrastructure experience who can take ownership of assigned services, contribute to the ongoing management and improvement of the IT estate, and help drive efficiencies through automation and continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and maintaining infrastructure services across multiple sites and data centres
- Supporting virtualised environments including VMware and Proxmox
- Administering Windows Server environments
- Managing Active Directory and Microsoft 365 services
- Performing BAU infrastructure activities including:
- VM provisioning
- System patching
- Backup administration
- Troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Network rule management (ACLs, NAT, VPNs)
- Supporting backup solutions and recovery testing
- Responding to alerts raised by monitoring platforms and support teams
- Taking ownership of assigned infrastructure services
- Supporting the delivery of infrastructure and business projects
- Maintaining and improving technical documentation
- Identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Working with third-party suppliers and support providers
- Participating in an on-call rota and occasional planned out-of-hours maintenance

Key Requirements
- 2 years' experience in an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar role
- Experience working within an enterprise IT environment
- Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies and services
- Experience with VMware and/or Proxmox
- Microsoft Windows Server administration (2022/2025)
- Active Directory administration
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Good understanding of networking concepts including ACLs, NAT, and VPN technologies
- Experience with backup solutions, ideally Veeam
- Basic storage administration experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned services
Nice to Have
- Azure cloud technologies
- Microsoft Intune
- Linux administration (Debian/Ubuntu)
- Firewall administration (Cisco or Meraki)
- Switch administration (Cisco or Meraki)
- Monitoring platforms such as Grafana or vROps
- Infrastructure automation tools including Terraform or Ansible
- Knowledge of ITIL processes
- Experience working within regulated environments such as PCI-DSS
