As a Salesforce Senior Developer , you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our mission. Your responsibilities will span across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), focusing primarily on development activities. You'll collaborate with our business analysts and customers to understand requirements, work with team members to apply secure programming techniques, and effectively comment on your code for peers and testers.

You'll also perform unit testing, manage configuration, control source code, oversee deployment and release management, and provide support services when needed. As applications approach the sunset stage, you'll also help plan for replacement and modernization. Your primary role will be to support software for enterprise data tools, including those supporting business intelligence (BI) and data governance services, while you'll also contribute to the support of API development and integration, including monitoring performance, ensuring effective functioning, documenting best practices, and troubleshooting.

As a Salesforce Senior Developer at OIT, you'll do more than just code - you'll be a crucial part of making Colorado a better place for all its residents, putting your creativity and innovation into the state that you love.

Some Of Your Important Daily Responsibilities Will Include

  • Software development using Agile or Waterfall methodologies. Collaboration to create estimates and timelines.
  • Coding and managing configurations for COTS applications.
  • Helping to minimize defects with a disciplined testing approach.
  • Implementation of break/fix solutions and updating documentation accordingly.
  • Resolve issues in the development process employing unique problem-solving and strategically anticipating future enhancement needs.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions Of Employment & Appeal Rights

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Salesforce Developer.
  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification.
  • Experience applying digital accessibility regulations and standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) to business processes, content, tools, and/or documents, with the ability to provide specific examples of accessibility improvements made.

Substitutions

  • Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
  • Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
  • If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience designing and developing within the Salesforce.com platform.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder.
  • Release/configuration management or completion of formal training
  • Cloud development experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Microsoft Visio or the Google equivalent of this tool suite.

Conditions Of Employment

OIT employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state agency locations where they might perform work.

A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Post-employment background checks will be required for specific agencies as business needs dictate, which may include a polygraph exam, fingerprint-based criminal history search, reference checks, and a drug test.

This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.

Supplemental Information

If this posting indicates “remote from anywhere in CO” in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location designated for the position is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado.

While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position. A reasonable timeframe for relocation will be established on an individual basis, while considering business needs, and determining a start date.
