The Software Engineer in Test is responsible for the design, planning, and development of test environments for our existing and new avionic products. Additionally, this role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests to ensure the systems perform correctly. The test automation engineer utilizes test automation frameworks, scripting or programming languages, and testing tools to create and execute automated tests.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Work with cross-functional teams of developers, test engineers, architects, and others to design, develop, implement, and test, automated tests
  • Review software requirements and recommend a test automation strategy to ensure full test coverage
  • Plan the test setup and test development, including the test framework
  • Implement automated integration and regression tests with the help of state-of-the-art test methods and tools
  • Reduce the number and criticality of bugs found in the system
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of established processes
  • Perform other job-related duties and training as assigned
  • Document test setup and environment, as well as test cases and results


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in computer science or a comparable study program or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in test automation
  • A working knowledge of Linux
  • Exceptional test design, test planning, test development, and test automation skills
  • Experience with automated test frameworks, specifically Pytest
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python
  • TCP/IP networking expertise (routing, switching, firewalls, etc.) is a plus
  • Thorough understanding of version control tools, including JIRA, or DOORS
