Role and Responsibility
- Lead Engineering for MS Exchange/Messaging: Serve as the primary engineer responsible for managing and optimizing MS Exchange environments, both on-premises and in the cloud, with a focus on hybrid deployment
- Hybrid/Cloud Exchange Management: Utilize extensive experience in hybrid and cloud Exchange environments (E3/E5) to manage, migrate, and maintain large enterprise-level messaging infrastructures
- Enterprise-Level Expertise: Apply 7+ years of experience in managing large enterprise Exchange environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, guiding best practices in deployment, configuration, and management of Exchange services
- Troubleshooting and Support: Lead efforts in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to Exchange and messaging systems, providing tier-3 support when necessary
- System Optimization and Automation: Develop and implement strategies for optimizing Exchange performance and automating routine tasks to enhance operational efficiency
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand messaging needs and deliver solutions that align with business objectives
- Compliance and Security: Ensure Exchange environments comply with organizational security policies and industry regulations, implementing best practices for data protection and disaster recovery
- Administration and Stakeholder Management: Allocate approximately 25% of your time to administration tasks, stakeholder management, and meetings with the Scrum Master and other relevant parties to ensure project alignment and progress
Your profile
We are looking for the seasoned IT experts with at least 5 years of experience in comparable roles and ideally the following additional qualifications
Education and experience
- You have a degree ie Computer Science, Business Administration, IT Audit or a related field or equivalent work experience
- You have IT experience with managing a complex Exchange (Online) environment in an enterprise-level multinational organization with multiple email domains, including relevant Microsoft 365 certifications to show for it
- You bring a ton of experience! A minimum of 6-7 years on managing Exchange for large enterprises is required
- With respect to automation: PowerShell has no secrets for you, and you have experience with automated Deployment in Azure DevOps pipelines for both scripts and configuration as code
- You have current knowledge of IT security principles, specifically email security protocols (including SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and compliance standards applicable to Microsoft 365 services
- You have experience with eDiscovery, Retention and Compliance in relation to email to support technical implementations and to support the compliance teams on technical matters
- You understand the principles of outsourcing on operational, tactical and strategic levels with E2E accountability of the WPS Services delivered across multiple external and internal parties
- You have preferably previously worked in highly regulated environments like financial institutions with segregation between Risk, Audits, Security, Security Response, Cyber Security, etc

- In previous roles, you were the ‘go-to-person’ for the team when encountering challenges. You are a genuine team player, and can also coach and support other team members to achieve shared goals
- You have excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical topics to various audiences
What we offer in this role:
- Initial 18 month contract assignment with option go internal (contract-to-perm)
- Hybrid working (on/off-line in the office)
- 36 hour work week
- Full pension according to Dutch temp labour CLA
- Bandwidth for a fixed term assignement: €5060 - €8143 gross per month, excl. holiday payments & 13th month.
