Role Overview
A Salesforce tester is tasked with ensuring the quality and functionality of Salesforce applications by designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test plans, scripts, and scenarios. They collaborate closely with developers and business analysts to identify and resolve defects, validate system performance, and ensure that the solutions align with business requirements and user expectations. Their role involves rigorous testing to uncover any issues, performing both manual and automated tests, and verifying that all features work seamlessly. Additionally, Salesforce testers document test results, provide feedback for improvements, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the testing processes to maintain high standards of software quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute Test Plans: Create and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts specifically for Salesforce applications to ensure all functionalities are thoroughly tested.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive testing coverage, addressing all aspects of the application.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating with the development team to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Perform Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to confirm that existing functionality remains unaffected by new changes or updates, maintaining system stability.
- Utilize Automated Testing Tools: Leverage automated testing tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage, ensuring consistent and repeatable test results.
- Conduct Performance and Load Testing: Perform performance and load testing to verify that the system meets established performance standards and can handle expected user loads.
- Provide Test Reports and Documentation: Generate detailed test reports and documentation to communicate test results and quality metrics to the project team, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Recommend Performance Metrics: Suggest key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to help measure the effectiveness of new processes and improvements, providing valuable insights for continuous enhancement.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in testing Salesforce applications, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and custom applications.
- Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Provar, or TestComplete.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and document test results.
Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of Salesforce platform features, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and custom applications.
- Proficiency in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Salesforce applications.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Provar, or TestComplete.
- Ability to identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance.

- Salesforce Certification: Such as Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I or II, Salesforce Certified Administrator, or Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Testing Tools: Proficient in using Salesforce testing tools such as Provar, Selenium, or TestComplete. This includes the ability to design, execute, and manage automated test scripts, ensuring thorough and efficient testing of Salesforce applications.
- Familiarity with Agile Development Methodologies: Well-versed in Agile development methodologies and experienced in testing within Agile environments. This includes participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, as well as adapting to iterative development cycles to ensure timely and effective testing.
- Salesforce Certification: Possess relevant Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Administrator or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder. These certifications demonstrate a validated level of expertise in Salesforce administration and application development, ensuring a strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities and best practices.
Work Environment
Remote with less than 25% travel to Chicago, IL
Incurred expenses will be reimbursable
Pay rate: $50-$58/hr depending on experience
