We are looking for a Senior HR Generalist to provide full-service Human Resources support to Milestone leaders and employees in Latin America. The Senior HR Generalist will have both strategic and operational responsibilities, ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations and providing HR consulting to business leaders and managers in the region. As the senior member of our 2-person People & Culture team in LATAM, you will collaborate closely with the People & Culture specialist team in the US.

The Senior HR Generalist will work out of our Latin America Headquarters located in beautiful downtown Mexico City.  This role reports to the Director of People & Culture, Americas Region. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to LATAM management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions), including Global managers of LATAM staff.
  • Develop, maintain, and consistently execute P&C policies and processes, and provide guidance and interpretation for regional leaders and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws and update internal policies and procedures when necessary.
  • Stay abreast of Brazil Labor Union developments and collaborate with external counsel and payroll partners to ensure Milestone’s timely compliance with collective agreements. 
  • Manage Employer of Record (EOR) relationships in LATAM countries where Milestone has no legal entity and provide HR support to the employees in those countries.
  • Oversee the full employee HR life cycle, from onboarding through exit.
  • Contribute to Americas Region P&C projects and initiatives, and be responsible for the execution of those programs in the LATAM region.
  • Frequent collaboration with the US-based Legal, Finance, Accounting, and Payroll teams.
  • Regular collaboration with the Global People & Culture team, headquartered in Denmark with colleagues throughout EMEA and APAC.
  • Develop programs that respect local customs while aligning with the company's global values and standards.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of the P&C department and company.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Your Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar position such as HR Business Partner or HR Manager.
  • Experience in international and matrix organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and cultural practices in Latin America.
  • Ability to work with different seniority levels across all LATAM leaders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize projects, prioritize work, and drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Business-level fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Additional working knowledge of Portuguese is highly desired.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo.
  • A good sense of humor is a must, and if you like to karaoke, even better!
