About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Software Engineer to join GrabJobs' dynamic development team. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the development and enhancement of our Android applications, ensuring they deliver exceptional performance, security, and user experience. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and backend developers—to define and execute the technical roadmap for our mobile solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing features that enhance our platform’s capabilities, improve user engagement, and support our strategic growth initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that impact recruitment processes globally, especially in fast-paced, collaborative, and remote environments. Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Android development, with a strong command of native development tools. Proficiency in Kotlin and Java is essential, along with a proven track record of building and maintaining high-traffic mobile applications. Experience contributing to or leveraging open-source projects is highly desirable. Candidates should have a solid understanding of cryptographic principles and security best practices, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of user data. The ability to work independently in a fully remote setting, coupled with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies, is critical. Additional preferred qualifications include startup experience, familiarity with ATAK plugins, SDK development, biometrics standards such as EBTS, and exposure to public safety or defense-related applications. Knowledge of IPC/RPC frameworks like gRPC and experience with languages such as Ruby, C++, C#, and Python will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin, including leading the development of features for our Identifi biometrics product. Take ownership of the entire development lifecycle, from concept through deployment and support, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure code. Maintain and enhance GrabJobs’ Human Systems suite of ATAK plugins and integrations with core products, ensuring seamless interoperability. Collaborate with SDK vendors to integrate new functionalities and improve existing features. Serve as the Android subject matter expert within the team, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting, and resolving Android-specific challenges. Advocate for superior user experience, security, and performance standards across all mobile applications. Drive engineering quality through rigorous architecture design, code reviews, and collaborative development practices. Support business development and mission success teams by troubleshooting technical issues and providing expert guidance to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction. Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations that enhance our mobile offerings.
