Role Description
- This role is based in Amsterdam
- At Order and Basket Platform track, we ensure a reliable and compliant checkout and order flow through the Booking ecosystem. Our goal is to enable the connected trip by bringing the Booking.com product verticals together, helping each business unit modernize their book flows, and by building things the right way.
- The Order and Basket Platform Track is split into 2 subtracks namely Order Lifecycle which deals with Basket and Order Orchestration between Order Platform and vertical backends and Order Storage and Access who deals with the storage of the order as well as retrieval of Order Information.
Key Job Responsibilities And Duties
Own and lead your platform product end to end whether it is building MVP or scaling existing products.Build and adapt strategy to the constantly evolving needs and constraints imposed by the business.Deeply understand the direction of the business and the problems platform customers face; extract and identify requirements from other business initiatives, customer requirements and prioritize them ruthlessly.Work closely with engineering, other product and program teams to define and ship products that solve problems.Constantly engage with stakeholders to expand the coverage of the services and create impact.Define the KPIs for the product, and be the ultimate responsible for its success.Key performance indicators that the candidate will be expected to meet.Efficiently drives day-to-day management of the team and identifies key business and customer needs for their product/feature and turns them into high-quality product specs and roadmaps that are executed on by the teamProduct/feature is achieving meaningful impact within the context of their department. Lays out a :1y strategy to achieve the vision, as part of their Track’s strategy and is able to align all their key stakeholders including their team on this strategy.Prioritises short- and mid-term (<1y) roadmap based on known strategy and objectives.
Identifies risks and dependencies early-on, and plans for mitigations.Identifies and explains the choice of the primary metric, supporting metric and counter metrics. PM manages stakeholder expectations with timely, concise and clear progress updates, adapted to stakeholder needs and via different mediums (verbal, written, presentation).
Role Qualifications And Requirements
- Technical background or experience with managing platform products is required
- Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in product discovery and product delivery techniques
- Strong problem solving skills; ability to breakdown complex problems and analyze them in isolation and in conjunction
- Experience with ecommerce funnels, checkouts and order management is a plus
