What you will own
- You will set and enforce code standards for JavaScript and CSS/SCSS, establish review practices, and make sure every project ships to the same bar regardless of who built it.
- You will own the path from design handoff to launch, including staging environments, review cycles, and deployment, so that nothing reaches a client by accident.
- You will own back-end architecture decisions and security review on every push, two areas we treat as non-negotiable and never hand fully to automation.
- You will design and run a QA process that catches issues before clients do.
- You will partner with the leadership team to scope technical work realistically, surface risk early, and tell us directly when a plan needs to change.
- You have led engineering at an agency or a product team, and you have built process where none existed before.
- You are genuinely hands-on. You still read and write JavaScript and CSS/SCSS, and you can review a pull request as comfortably as you can run a planning session.
- You have shipped front-end work at a high craft bar, and you treat performance, accessibility, and polish as part of quality rather than as afterthoughts.
- You have built or repaired a QA process that survived contact with real client deadlines.
- You communicate as a partner. You do not sugar-coat risk, and you are comfortable telling leadership when something is off track.
