Job Description


Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Server Support Engineer at YK SYSTEMS PLUS SARL. The Server Support Engineer will monitor and maintain servers, respond to incidents, and ensure system availability and performance. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving server-related issues, applying patches and updates, managing backups, and documenting configurations and procedures. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to support deployments, improving server reliability, and implementing best practices for security and stability. The engineer will also provide technical guidance to non-technical stakeholders and participate in on-call or scheduled maintenance windows as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong server support skills, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and maintenance of server environments.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support, with the ability to quickly identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (such as Windows Server and/or Linux), including user management, permissions, and system services.
  • Knowledge of network security concepts and practices, including firewalls, access controls, patching, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to document processes clearly and collaborate with distributed teams in a remote setting.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft, Linux, or security-related certifications) are an advantage.
  • Experience working in a technical support or infrastructure role and the ability to manage priorities in a part-time schedule.
