As our new Network Administrator II you will provide advanced technical network communications support to State agencies in Southern Colorado (Pueblo, Trinidad, Colorado Springs). This support will be both remote and on-site. You will develop, test, implement, and maintain new/existing equipment. Equipment may include but is not limited to routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and VoIP technologies. Some Of The Day-to-day Opportunities Include
Provide daily technical operations support and technical expertise for network Infrastructure (hardware and/or software) as it relates to data transport (wired or wireless) and information technology.
Assist with the design, installation and configuration of network communications infrastructure including, but not limited to routers, switches, wireless access points, and wireless LAN controllers.
Respond to critical outages and end-user technical issues escalated through the enterprise service desk.

Resolving these issues in a timely manner requires a combination of technical knowledge to identify and correct the issue or to escalate the issue with the service provider, if necessary.
May be required to travel to any agency or location throughout the state to provide services.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions Of Employment & Appeal Rights
A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:
A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position, including professional experience as a dedicated Network Administrator, utilizing Cisco-specific devices (Switches/Routers) in a medium to large enterprise environment.
Substitutions
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to submit to and pass a Colorado Department of Public Safety background check.
Relevant years of State Service in a position with similar duties.
Four years of professional work experience in information technology network operations and support.
Two years professional experience in Cisco router and switch configuration.
Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Experience managing ISP's, Circuits, and Scheduling Cut overs.
Conditions Of Employment
OIT employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state agency locations where they might perform work.

Supplemental Information
If this posting indicates “remote from anywhere in CO” in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location designated for the position is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado.
While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position.
