We're hiring a Director of Operations โ€” the most senior hire we've made to date. This is the person who keeps Tabula running, who makes sure every project moves forward, every team member is performing, and every client outcome lands.


This is the right hand to the founder. When the CEO is away, this person is Tabula.

What You'll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations across the agency โ€” every project, every client deliverable, every deadline
  • Lead and manage our team of specialists (web, design, SEO, paid ads, social, video, content) โ€” ensure everyone is performing, accountable, and delivering quality work
  • Run our project management system (ClickUp) and ensure it stays the single source of truth for everything we do
  • Hold the team to performance standards and conduct regular performance reviews, capacity planning, and workload management
  • Be the founder's #2 โ€” represent Tabula in internal team meetings, escalations, and operational decisions when the CEO is unavailable
  • Sit in on client meetings as needed (the CEO owns client communications day-to-day, but you'll meet clients and build relationships over time)
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, build SOPs, and continuously improve how we deliver
  • Track and report on agency-wide KPIs, capacity, utilization, and project profitability
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, and team development as we scale

Must-Have Qualifications

  • You live in Canada. This is a Canadian employee role.
  • Agency experience is mandatory. You've worked inside a marketing, digital, or creative agency and understand how they operate, where they break, and what great looks like.
  • Senior operational experience โ€” you've run teams, managed multiple concurrent projects, and held people accountable to outcomes.
  • Working marketing knowledge โ€” you don't need to be a specialist in SEO, ads, or web, but you need enough fluency to gauge good performance, ask the right questions, and recognize when something is off.
  • Strong project management skills โ€” comfort with platforms like ClickUp, Asana, or Monday, and the discipline to keep systems clean. We use ClickUp.
  • Strong leadership and people management instincts โ€” you know how to push a team without breaking it.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication โ€” clarity, professionalism, and judgment.
  • Comfort using AI tools in operations, reporting, and workflow design (we're AI-native โ€” this matters).
  • Discretion and trustworthiness โ€” you'll have access to sensitive business information and need to handle it accordingly.


What Makes You Stand Out

  • Prior experience as an Operations Manager, Director of Operations, Account Director, or Chief of Staff inside an agency
  • Experience building or refining agency operating systems (SOPs, scorecards, capacity models)
  • Track record of scaling an agency from sub-$1M to multi-million in revenue
  • Financial fluency โ€” comfort with P&L, project margins, and operational economics
  • Experience with remote, distributed teams across multiple time zones
  • A genuine interest in marketing and the craft of building businesses
  • Bilingual (English + Spanish or Hebrew) โ€” not required, but a plus given our team and client mix

Compensation

CAD $90,000 โ€“ $150,000 base salary, depending on skills, experience, and proven track record. We will pay at the top of the range for the right person.
