Position Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) III
Location: Washington, DC (Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling | 100% Onsite)
Clearance Requirements: Active Top Secret required; SCI eligibility required (sponsorship available within 1-2 weeks of hire)
Position Status: Full Time, Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $185,000 - $230,000 base salary + performance bonuses + company-paid training/certifications + referral bonuses | Relocation assistance available

Join a collaborative, high-performing engineering team delivering mission-critical infrastructure and reliability solutions at the highest levels of the federal government. This is a systems-leaning SRE role focused on stability, automation, incident response, and platform observability — supporting a large, multi-customer federal organization where your work directly impacts national priorities.
You'll work alongside Platform Engineers, DevSecOps engineers, PostgreSQL DBAs, and Software Developers in a fast-paced classified environment. One interview. End of June hiring target.

Design, deploy, and maintain mission-critical application workloads on Kubernetes and virtualized environments, ensuring scalability, availability, and compliance with government requirements
Build and sustain automated CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and configuration management workflows across development, integration, staging, and production environments
Provision and maintain developer environments and toolchains to enable rapid, secure, and efficient software delivery
Identify and eliminate friction across the software development lifecycle — building developer-first platform experiences
Own incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities across a large, multi-customer organization
Communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders and high-visibility government customers
Required Skills And Experience

DoD 8140 certification — Security+ or higher (required)
7+ years of experience in systems engineering, SRE, or operations with direct ownership of production availability, performance, and reliability
Kubernetes experience — production ownership required, including container-native and object storage solutions (MinIO, PortWorx, S3-compatible services)
Experience with Ansible, Desired State Configuration, GitLab CI/CD automation, and Bash scripting
Experience with enterprise load-balancing solutions (F5 or equivalent)
Experience designing and managing monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions aligned to defined SLOs
Experience leading or participating in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement

On-call Rotation Participation Required — Flexibility Essential
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field preferred; relevant experience may substitute
This position is designated as essential personnel supporting continuity of operations and may require availability during government shutdowns, emergencies, or other critical situations. Candidates must be fully comfortable with 100% onsite requirements at JBAB. This is not a hybrid role.
