A growing global organization is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Advisor to support a complex, high-volume U.S. payroll environment during a critical transition period. This fully remote contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with HR, payroll leadership, and external partners while ensuring a seamless payroll experience for employees across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments where adaptability and collaboration are essential.
What You'll Do
- Manage end-to-end U.S. payroll processing for a workforce of 300+ employees, including both hourly and salaried populations.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll execution, tax calculations, deductions, and benefit-related transactions.
- Serve as a payroll subject matter expert and trusted resource for employees, HR partners, and business leaders.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Partner with external payroll providers and PEO partners to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
- Review payroll controls, audit requirements, and documentation to support compliance and governance standards.
- Support year-end payroll activities, reporting, and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with benefits providers to ensure proper treatment of taxable benefits and deductions.
- Contribute to payroll process improvements, documentation, and policy development.
- Assist with payroll-related projects, audits, system changes, and organizational transitions.
- Provide responsive support for payroll inquiries while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle U.S. payroll experience.
- Experience processing payroll for 350+ employees.
- Strong understanding of payroll for both hourly and salaried employee populations.
- Working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations.
- Experience operating within a PEO environment and understanding co-employment payroll structures.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working with benefits providers and ensuring payroll compliance for taxable benefits.
- High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
Highly Preferred
โญ Direct experience with TriNet or another major PEO platform.
โญ Strong understanding of PEO payroll operations and vendor management.
โญ Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation or extensive knowledge of CPP standards and payroll compliance regulations.

Work Arrangement

Compensation
